Derby-born boxer Sandy Ryan is a force to be reckoned with. Her medals include the World Championship Silver, Youth European Silver Medal, European Games bronze medal and European Championships Bronze medal.

She went on to claim gold at the 2018 commonwealth games and became one of Team GB’s leading medal contenders for the 2021 Tokyo Games. Unfortunately the cancellation of the Olympic qualifying tournament, due to the pandemic, meant that qualification was based on a point based system which left Ryan unable to secure a place.

Undeterred, Sandy is instead turning pro this summer. Her pro debut is on the 31st of July.
